Business Valuation Group,
Inc. is pleased to announce that John Goryl, a recent
president of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, member of
the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations is now a Senior
Consultant with the Business Valuation Group and specializes in
the valuation of business enterprises
and fractional business interests.
He has performed valuation
assignments for:
Previous Experience
Mr. Goryl was a Vice
President and Manager of the Trust Real Estate and Special
Asset Group at Harris Trust and Savings Bank where he managed
trust owned real estate and closely-held businesses and
partnerships. Additionally, he served on the board of
directors of various privately-held companies and consulted
them on various issues.
Before joining the Harris,
Mr. Goryl was a Vice President in the Family Business
Advisory Services Group at Bank of America where he specialized
in financial valuation of business enterprises including
negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service. He
also served on
the board of directors of various closely-held manufacturing
concerns and provided technical and legal consulting in the
gift and estate planning area to bank clients and their
legal and tax advisors.
Prior to joining Bank of
America, Mr. Goryl was
associated with McKenna, Storer, Rowe, White & Farrug, a
Chicago area law firm. His areas of specialization
included estate planning, probate and federal tax matters,
and it was his responsibility to represent firm clients before the IRS. He
also organized closely-held businesses and negotiated
contracts for sales and acquisitions of stock and/or assets
of such businesses.
Education and Certification
Mr. Goryl holds a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Accounting from DePaul University,
Chicago, Illinois and also holds a Juris Doctor Degree from
DePaul University College of Law. He obtained his Certified
Public Accountant certification in 1969.
